أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ الْحِرَّانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ وَجَامِعُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْقِلٍ
أَنَّهُ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أُمَّ مَعْقِلٍ جَعَلَتْ عَلَيْهَا حَجَّةً مَعَكَ فَلَمْ يَتَيَسَّرْ لَهَا ذَلِكَ فَمَا يُجْزِئُ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ «عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ» قَالَ فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي جَمَلًا جَعَلْتُهُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ حَبِيسًا فَأُعْطِيهَا إِيَّاهُ فَتَرْكَبُهُ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ»

✧ He came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: Umm Maʿqil made a vow to perform Hajj with you, but it was not possible for her. What will suffice for her? He said: “An ʿumrah in Ramadan.” He said: I have a camel that I have dedicated as a permanent endowment for God’s cause; may I give it to her to ride? He said: “Yes.”
