✧ Slaughtering before Stoning

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَاقِفًا عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ بِمِنًى فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَرَى أَنَّ الْحَلْقَ قَبْلَ الذَّبْحِ فَحَلَقْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَذْبَحَ قَالَ «اذْبَحْ وَلَا حَرَجَ» ثُمَّ جَاءَهُ آخَرُ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَرَى أَنَّ الذَّبْحَ قَبْلَ الرَّمْيِ فَذَبَحْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَرْمِيَ قَالَ «ارْمِ وَلَا حَرَجَ» فَمَا سُئِلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ قَدَّمَهُ رَجُلٌ قَبْلَ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا قَالَ «افْعَلْ وَلَا حَرَجَ»

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ standing on his mount at Mina. A man came to him and said: “O Messenger of Allah, I thought shaving came before slaughtering, so I shaved before I slaughtered.” He said: “Slaughter, and there is no harm.” Then another came and said: “O Messenger of Allah, I thought slaughtering came before stoning, so I slaughtered before I stoned.” He said: “Stone, and there is no harm.” He was never asked about anything that a man did before another thing except that he said: “Do it, and there is no harm.”
