✧ The time of the sermon on the day of sacrifice

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَافِعَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو الْمُزَنِيَّ أَنَّهُ أَقْبَلَ مَعَ وَالِدِهِ يَوْمَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ قَالَ

وَنَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ شَهْبَاءَ وَعَلِيٌّ يُعَبِّرُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ حَتَّى إِذَا ارْتَفَعَ الضُّحَى بِمِنًى قَالَ فَانْتَزَعْتُ يَدِي مِنْ أَبِي فَتَخَلَّلْتُ الرِّجَالَ وَالنَّاسُ مِنْ قَائِمٍ وَقَاعِدٍ فَأَضْرِبُ بِيَدِي كِلْتَيْهِمَا عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ حَتَّى أَخَذْتُ بِسَاقِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ثُمَّ مَسَحْتُهَا حَتَّى «أَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي بَيْنَ النَّعْلِ وَالْقَدَمِ فَإِنَّهُ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيَّ أَنِّي أَجِدُ بَرْدَ قَدَمِهِ السَّاعَةَ عَلَى يَدِي»

✧ And the Prophet of Allah ﷺ was giving a sermon to the people on a grey mule, and Ali was conveying on his behalf on the Day of Sacrifice, until when the forenoon had risen in Mina. He said: I pulled my hand from my father and slipped through the men, and the people were standing and sitting, and I struck with both my hands on his knee until I took hold of the shin of the Prophet ﷺ. Then I wiped it, until I put my hand between the sandal and the foot, and it seems to me that I find the coolness of his foot on my hand right now.
