✧ Hajj without intention is something the pilgrim desires

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى أَبُو مُوسَى الزَّمِنُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ يَعْنِي الْقَطَّانَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ أَتَيْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ

عَنْ حَجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَحَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ عَلِيًّا قَدِمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ يُهْدِي وَسَاقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ هَدْيًا قَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ «بِمَا أَهْلَلْتَ؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أُهِلُّ بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ رَسُولُكَ وَمَعِي الْهَدْيُ قَالَ «فَلَا تَحِلَّ»

✧ About the Ḥajj of the Prophet ﷺ. He narrated to us that ʿAlī came from Yemen driving a sacrificial animal, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ drove a sacrificial animal from Madinah. He said to ʿAlī: 'With what did you enter iḥrām?' He said: 'I said: O Allah, I enter iḥrām with what Your Messenger entered iḥrām, and I have the sacrificial animal with me.' He said: 'Then do not exit iḥrām.'
