al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 3412

✧ The reward for whoever stands in worship on the Night of Decree with faith and seeking reward, and a discussion of the variations in the narrations of Abu Hurairah's report regarding that.

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَبَلَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعَافَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُرَغِّبُ النَّاسَ فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُمْ بِعَزِيمَةِ أَمْرٍ فِيهِ فَيَقُولُ «مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ لَيْسَ بِذَاكَ الْقَوِيِّ فِي الزُّهْرِيِّ وَمُوسَى بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ثِقَةٌ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to encourage the people to stand in prayer during Ramadan without commanding them to do so as an obligatory command, saying: "Whoever stands in prayer during Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, his previous sins will be forgiven." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Ishaq b. Rashid is not that strong in al-Zuhri, and Musa b. A'yan is trustworthy.
