أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَسَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ
دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا صَائِمَةٌ فَأُتِيَ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِي فَشَرِبْتُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ صَائِمَةً وَلَكِنِّي كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَرُدَّ سُؤْرَكَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ قَضَاءِ رَمَضَانَ فَاقْضِي يَوْمًا مَكَانَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ قَضَاءِ رَمَضَانَ فَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَاقْضِي وَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَلَا تَقْضِي»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ entered upon me while I was fasting. A vessel of milk was brought, and he drank. Then he handed it to me, and I drank. I said, "O Messenger of God, I was fasting, but I disliked rejecting your sipped drink." The Messenger of God ﷺ said, "If it was a make-up for Ramadan, then fast a day in its place. If it was other than a make-up for Ramadan, then if you wish, make it up, and if you wish, do not make it up."
