أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
كُنْتُ أَنَا وَحَفْصَةُ صَائِمَتَيْنِ فَعَرَضَ لَنَا طَعَامٌ فَاشْتَهَيْنَاهُ فَأَفْطَرْنَا فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَبَادَرَتْ إِلَيْهِ حَفْصَةُ وَكَانَتْ ابْنَةَ أَبِيهَا فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا أَصْبَحْنَا الْيَوْمَ صَائِمَتَيْنِ فَعَرَضَ لَنَا طَعَامٌ فَاشْتَهَيْنَاهُ فَقَالَ «اقْضِيَا يَوْمًا آخَرَ»

✧ Hafsah and I were fasting, and food was presented to us, and we desired it, so we broke our fast. The Prophet ﷺ entered, and Hafsah hastened to him—and she was the daughter of her father—and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we began the day fasting, then food was presented to us, and we desired it.' He said, 'Make up another day.'
