أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي زُمَيْلٌ مَوْلَى عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
أُهْدِيَ لِي وَلِحَفْصَةَ طَعَامٌ وَكُنَّا صَائِمَتَيْنِ فَأَفْطَرْنَا ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا أُهْدِيَ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ فَاشْتَهَيْنَاهَا فَأَفْطَرْنَا فَقَالَ «لَا عَلَيْكُمَا صُومَا يَوْمًا آخَرَ مَكَانَهُ»

✧ Food was given as a gift to me and Hafsah while we were fasting, so we broke our fast. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered, and we said, 'O Messenger of Allah, a gift was given to us, and we desired it, so we broke our fast.' He said, 'No harm upon you both; fast another day in its place.'
