أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَرَأَيْتُمْ لَوْ أَنَّ نَهْرًا بِبَابِ أَحَدِكُمْ يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ خَمْسَ مَرَّاتٍ هَلْ يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْءٌ؟» قَالُوا لَا يَبْقَى مِنْ دَرَنِهِ شَيْءٌ قَالَ «فَذَلِكَ مِثْلُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْخَمْسِ يَمْحُو اللهُ بِهِنَّ الْخَطَايَا» قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ابْنُ الْهَادِ اسْمُهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ الْهَادِ وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ عَمْرٍو وَيُقَالُ عَبْدُ شَمْسٍ وَيُقَالُ سُكَيْنٍ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ الْمُحَرَّرِ بْنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ اسْمُ أَبِي عَبْدُ عَمْرِو بْنُ عَبْدِ غَنْمٍ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ بَكَّارٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مَقْدَمٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ لَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَبَكْرُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ فِي الْحَدِيثِ قَالَ وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ فِي الزُّهْرِيِّ خَاصَّةً وَفِي غَيْرِهِ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Do you think that if there were a river at the door of one of you in which he bathed five times every day, would any dirt remain on him?” They said, “No dirt would remain on him.” He said, “That is like the five prayers: Allah erases sins by them.” Abu ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said to us: Ibn al-Hād’s name is Yazīd b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Usāma b. al-Hād; Abū Salama’s name is ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf; and Abū Hurayra’s name is ʿAbd ʿAmr—or it is said ʿAbd Shams, or it is said Sukayn. Sufyān b. Ḥusayn said, from al-Zuhrī, from al-Muḥarrir b. Abī Hurayra: He said, “Abū Hurayra’s name is ʿAbd ʿAmr b. ʿAbd Ghanm.” Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā informed us of it from Bakr b. Bakkār, from ʿUmar b. ʿAlī b. Miqdām, from Sufyān b. Ḥusayn, from al-Zuhrī. Abu ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said to us: Bakr b. Bakkār is not strong in ḥadīth. He said: Sufyān b. Ḥusayn is not strong specifically in al-Zuhrī, but in others there is no harm in him.
