✧ The obligation of prayer

أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ عَنْ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ انْتُهِيَ بِهِ إِلَى سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى وَهِيَ فِي السَّمَاءِ السَّادِسَةِ إِلَيْهَا يَنْتَهِي مَا يُعرَجُ بِهِ مَنْ تَحْتَهَا وَإِلَيْهَا يَنْتَهِي مَا يَهْبِطُ بِهِ مَنْ فَوْقَهَا حَتَّى يُقْبَضُ مِنْهَا قَالَ {إِذْ يَغْشَى} [النجم 16] السِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَى قَالَ فِرَاشٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَأُعْطِيَ ثَلَاثًا الصَّلَوَاتُ الْخَمْسُ وَخَوَاتِمُ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ وَيُغْفَرُ لِمَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ لَا يُشْرَكُ بِاللهِ شَيْئًا الْمُقْحِمَاتُ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey, he was taken to Sidrat al-Muntaha, which is in the sixth heaven. To it ends what ascends from below it, and to it ends what descends from above it, until he was taken from it. He said: {When it covers} [al-Najm: 16] the lote tree what it covers. He said: A couch of gold. He was given three things: the five prayers, the closing verses of Surat al-Baqarah, and forgiveness for those of his ummah who die not associating anything with Allah—the destructive sins.
