أَخْبَرَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الشَّعْبِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ مَنْ أَصْبَحَ جُنُبًا فَلَا يَصُومَنَّ فَدَخَلَ أَبِي عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَدَخَلْتُ مَعَهُ فَسَأَلَهَا فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ فَيَصُومُ يَوْمَهُ» فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِمَرْوَانَ فَقَالَ عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْكَ لَمَا لَقِيتَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ

✧ Abu Hurayrah said: Whoever wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity must not fast. Then my father entered upon 'A'ishah, and I entered with him. He asked her, and she said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up in a state of major ritual impurity without having had a wet dream, and then he would fast that day. I mentioned that to Marwan, and he said: I adjure you to meet Abu Hurayrah.
