✧ I came to A'ishah and said: Abu Hurairah says that whoever begins the morning in a state of major ritual impurity should not fast. She said: I do not say anything about that. The caller used to call the prayer while he was in a state of major ritual impurity, and I would see the trace of water between his shoulders, then he would pray the dawn prayer and continue fasting. Mu'tamir b. Sulaiman disagreed with him, relating it from Ismail from Mujalid from al-Sha'bi. 2977 Zakariyya b. Yahya informed me; he said: Abu Hafs narrated to us; he said: Mu'tamir narrated to us; he said: Ismail narrated to us, from Mujalid, from Amir, from Abu Bakr b. Abd al-Rahman. He said: I mentioned it to Yahya, and he said: Ismail narrated to us; he said: Amir narrated to us, from Abu Bakr b. Abd al-Rahman, from A'ishah. He said: And I heard Yahya say: I heard Mujalid narrating from Amir, from Abd al-Rahman b. al-Harith, from A'ishah, something similar.
