✧ May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, are people punished in the graves?' He said, 'I seek refuge with Allah.' Then he mounted a mount—then he mentioned a word whose meaning was—and the sun eclipsed. I was among the chambers with some women. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came from his mount and went to his prayer place and prayed with the people. He stood and lengthened the standing. Then he bowed and lengthened the bowing. Then he raised his head and lengthened the standing. Then he bowed and lengthened the bowing. Then he raised his head and lengthened the standing. Then he prostrated and lengthened the prostration. Then he stood and made a standing lighter than his first standing. Then he bowed lighter than his first bowing. Then he raised his head and stood lighter than his first standing. Then he bowed lighter than his first bowing. Then he raised his head and stood lighter than his first standing. So there were four bowings and four prostrations, and the sun cleared. Then he said, 'You will be tried in the graves like the trial of the Dajjal.' A'ishah said, 'After that, I heard him seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.'
