✧ Encouragement of the Imam to give charity in the sermon

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِيَاضٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «كَانَ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يَخْطُبُ فَيَأْمُرُ بِالصَّدَقَةِ فَيَكُونُ أَكْثَرَ مَنْ يتَصَدَّقُ النِّسَاءُ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةٌ أَوْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَ بَعْثًا تَكَلَّمَ وَإِلَّا رَجَعَ»

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ “would go out on the day of Eid and pray two rakʿahs, then deliver a sermon and command charity, and the majority of those who gave charity were women. And if he had a need or wanted to dispatch an expedition, he would speak; otherwise he would return.”
