✧ I attended the prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Eid. He began with the prayer before the sermon, with no adhan or iqama. When he finished the prayer, he stood leaning on Bilal, praised Allah and extolled Him, admonished the people, reminded them, and urged them to obey Him. Then he went to the women, with Bilal accompanying him, and commanded them to fear Allah, admonished them, reminded them, praised Allah and extolled Him, then urged them to obey Him. Then he said, “Give charity, for most of you are the fuel of Hell.” A woman from the lower ranks of women, with dark cheeks, said, “Why, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “Because of your frequent complaining and ingratitude to your husbands.” They began removing their jewelry—necklaces, earrings, and rings—throwing them into Bilal’s garment, giving them as charity.
