✧ The adhan was at first only when the imam sat on the pulpit on Friday in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Abu Bakr, and Umar. When it was Uthman's caliphate and the people became numerous, Uthman b. Affan commanded on Friday a third adhan, and it was called on al-Zawra', and the matter remained upon that.
