أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ بَكْرٍ عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِحَاجَتِهِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ مِنْ طُهُورٍ؟» فَأَتْبَعْتُهُ بِمِيضَأَةٍ فِيهَا مَاءٌ «فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يَحْسِرُ عَنْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَكَانَ فِي يَدَيِ الْجُبَّةِ ضَيِّقٌ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَخُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ رَكْبَ»

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went aside for his need and said, “Is there any water for purification?” I followed him with a small vessel containing water. “He washed his palms and his face, then he went to pull up his forearms, but the sleeves of the jubbah were tight, so he took his hands out from under the jubbah and washed his forearms. Then he wiped over his turban and his leather socks, then he mounted.”
