الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأنا أَسْمَعُ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ قَالَ

«مَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبْعٍ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِخَمْسٍ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِثَلَاثٍ وَمَنْ غُلِبَ أَوْمَأَ إِيمَاءً» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَوْقُوفُ أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ

✧ "Whoever wishes may pray Witr with seven, whoever wishes with five, whoever wishes with three, and whoever is overcome may gesture with a gesture." Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: The mawquf version is more correct, and Allah knows best.
