أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُقَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا قَدِمَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ فَكَانُوا مِنْ أَخْبَثِ النَّاسِ كَيْلًا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ} [المطففين 1] فَحَسَّنُوا الْكَيْلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ
Translation

✧ When the Prophet of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah, they were among the worst people in measuring. Then Allah, Exalted is He, revealed: {Woe to those who give short measure} [al-Muṭaffifīn 1], and after that they measured fairly.
