أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ وَأَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَيَانٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمُ الْكَرْمُ فَإِنَّمَا الْكَرْمُ الرَّجُلُ الْمُسْلِمُ وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا حَدَائِقَ الْأَعْنَابِ اللَّفْظُ لِيُونُسَ وَوَهْبٍ مِثْلَهُ

✧ On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: “None of you should say ‘al-karm’ (the vine), for al-karm is the Muslim man. Instead, say ‘hadāʾiq al-aʿnāb’ (gardens of grapes).” The wording is that of Yūnus, and Wahb’s is similar.
