أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْخَيْفِ مِنْ مِنًى حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ {وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا} [المرسلات 1] فَخَرَجَتْ حَيَّةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اقْتُلُوهَا» فَابْتَدَرْنَاهَا فَدَخَلَتْ فِي جُحْرِهَا

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at al-Khayf in Mina when {By those sent forth in succession} [al-Mursalat 1] was revealed. A snake came out, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Kill it.' We rushed to it, but it entered its hole.
