أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ وَاصِلٍ الْأَحْدَبِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ
قِيلَ لَهُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ الْيَوْمَ أَكْثَرُ أَمْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَلْ هُمُ الْيَوْمَ أَكْثَرُ؛ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَسْتَسِرُّونَهُ وَالْيَوْمَ يَسْتَعْلِنُونَهُ»

✧ He was asked: “Are the hypocrites today more numerous or at the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ?” He said: “Rather, they are more numerous today, because then they concealed it, and today they display it openly.”
