Sūrat al-Qamar

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَنْشُدُكَ عَهْدَكَ وَوَعْدَكَ اللهُمَّ إِنْ شِئْتَ لَمْ تَعْبُدْ بَعْدَ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ» فَأَخَذَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِيَدِهِ وَقَالَ حَسْبُكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَدْ أَلْحَحْتَ عَلَى رَبِّكَ وَهُوَ فِي الدِّرْعِ فَخَرَجَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ {سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ} [القمر 46]

✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, while he was in a tent on the day of Badr: “O Allah, I adjure You by Your covenant and Your promise. O Allah, if You will, You will not be worshipped after this day.” Then Abū Bakr took him by the hand and said: “Enough for you, O Messenger of Allah, for you have importuned your Lord.” He was wearing a breastplate. Then he went out saying: {Their assembly will be defeated and they will turn their backs. Nay, the Hour is their appointed time, and the Hour is more calamitous and more bitter.} [al-Qamar: 45–46]
