أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ هَبَطُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ جَبَلِ التَّنْعِيمِ عِنْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ فَأَخَذَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَعَفَا عَنْهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَهُوَ الَّذِي كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ} [الفتح 24] الْآيَةَ

✧ Some people from the people of Makkah came down upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the mountain of al-Tanʿīm at the time of the dawn prayer, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seized them and then pardoned them. Then Allah, exalted is He, revealed: {And it is He who restrained their hands from you and your hands from them} [al-Fath: 24] – the verse.
