أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَى رِيحًا قَامَ وَقَعَدَ وَأَقْبَلَ وَأَدْبَرَ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ مَا يُؤَمِّنُنِي أَنْ يَكُونَ كَمَا قَالَ قَوْمٌ {فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَذَا عَارِضٌ مُمْطِرُنَا بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُمْ بِهِ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ} [الأحقاف 24] قَالَ فَيَرَى قَطَرَاتٍ فَيَسْكُنُ ﷺ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a wind, he would stand and sit, and face it and turn his back. She said: I said to him: He said: O ʿĀʾishah, what assures me that it is not as the people said: {When they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said: This is a cloud bringing us rain. Nay, it is what you sought to hasten: a wind in which is a painful punishment} [al-Aḥqāf 24]. He said: Then he would see drops and become calm ﷺ.
