أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا الْأَسَدِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَعْلَمَهُ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَوَى عَلَى بَعِيرِهِ خَارِجًا إِلَى سَفَرٍ كَبَّرَ ثَلَاثًا وَقَالَ {سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ} [الزخرف 14] اللهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى اللهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mounted his camel to set out on a journey, he would say the takbīr three times and say: {Glory be to Him who has subjected this to us, and we were not capable of it. And indeed we will return to our Lord.} [al-Zukhruf: 14] O Allah, we ask You on this journey of ours for righteousness, piety, and deeds that You are pleased with. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and fold up its distance for us. O Allah, You are the Companion in travel and the Guardian over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the hardships of travel, from a dismal appearance, and from an evil return in family and property.
