أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ بَابَنُوسَ قَالَ

قُلْنَا لِعَائِشَةَ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ كَيْفَ كَانَ خُلُقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ «كَانَ خُلُقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ الْقُرْآنُ» فَقَرَأَتْ {قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ} [المؤمنون 1] حَتَّى انْتَهَتْ {وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَوَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ} [المؤمنون 9] قَالَتْ «هَكَذَا كَانَ خُلُقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ»

Translation

✧ We said to Aisha: O Mother of the Believers, how was the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? She said: “The character of the Messenger of Allah was the Quran.” Then she recited: “Indeed, the believers have succeeded” [al-Muʾminūn 1] until she reached: “And those who are mindful of their prayers” [al-Muʾminūn 9]. She said: “Thus was the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”
