أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ أَبِي

عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {قُلْ هَلْ نُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِالْأَخْسَرِينَ أَعْمَالًا} [الكهف 103] أَهُمُ الْحَرُورِيَّةُ؟ قَالَ لَا هُمْ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ أَمَّا الْيَهُودُ فَكَفَرُوا بِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ وَأَمَّا النَّصَارَى فَكَفَرُوا بِالْجَنَّةِ قَالُوا لَيْسَ فِيهَا طَعَامٌ وَلَا شَرَابٌ وَلَكِنَّ الْحَرُورِيَّةَ الَّذِينَ قَالَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوَصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ} [البقرة 27] إِلَى الْفَاسِقِينَ قَالَ يَزِيدُ هَكَذَا حَفِظْتُ كَانَ سَعْدٌ يُسَمِّيهِمُ الْفَاسِقِينَ

Translation

✧ About this verse: {Say: Shall We inform you of the greatest losers in respect of their deeds?} [al-Kahf 103]: 'Are they the Haruriyyah?' He said: 'No, they are the People of the Book. As for the Jews, they disbelieved in Muhammad ﷺ, and as for the Christians, they disbelieved in Paradise, saying: "There is no food or drink in it." But the Haruriyyah are those about whom Allah ﷻ said: {And those who sever what Allah has commanded to be joined and cause corruption in the earth} [al-Baqarah 27] until "the defiantly disobedient."' Yazid said: 'Thus I memorized it. Sa'd used to call them "the defiantly disobedient."'
