أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَيُسْقَى مِنْ مَاءٍ صَدِيدٍ يَتَجَرَّعُهُ} [إبراهيم 17] قَالَ يُقَرَّبُ إِلَيْهِ فَيَتَكَرَّهُهُ فَإِذَا أُدْنِيَ مِنْهُ شُوِيَ وَجْهُهُ وَوَقَعَتْ فَرْوَةُ رَأْسِهِ فَإِذَا شَرِبَهُ قَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِنْ دُبُرِهِ يَقُولُ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَسُقُوا مَاءً حَمِيمًا فَقَطَّعَ أَمْعَاءَهُمْ} [محمد 15] وَيَقُولُ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَإِنْ يَسْتَغِيثُوا يُغَاثُوا بِمَاءٍ كَالْمُهْلِ يَشْوِي الْوُجُوهَ بِئْسَ الشَّرَابُ} [الكهف 29]

✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ regarding His saying: {and given to drink from purulent water which he sips} [Ibrāhīm: 17]. He said: ‘It is brought near to him, and he finds it repulsive; when it is brought close to him, his face is scorched and the skin of his head falls off. When he drinks it, it cuts through his intestines until it comes out of his posterior. Allah, exalted is He, says: {And they will be given boiling water to drink, and it will cut their intestines} [Muḥammad: 15], and Allah, exalted is He, says: {And if they call for relief, they will be relieved with water like molten copper, which scalds the faces; evil is the drink} [al-Kahf: 29].’”
