أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ حَفْصٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنْ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ قَالَ ضَمَّنِي إِلَيْهِ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأُحِبُّكَ فِي اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

لَمَّا أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {لَوْ أَنْفَقْتَ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا مَا أَلَّفْتَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِهِمْ} [الأنفال 63] قَالَ هُمُ الْمُتَحَابُّونَ فِي اللهِ

Translation

✧ When this verse was sent down: {Had you spent all that is on the earth, you could not have brought their hearts together} [Al-Anfal: 63], he said, "They are those who love one another for the sake of God."
