أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ فِي النِّسَاءِ قُلِ اللهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِيهِنَّ وَمَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الْكِتَابِ فِي يَتَامَى النِّسَاءِ اللَّاتِي لَا تُؤْتُونَهُنَّ} [النساء 127] قَالَتْ أُنْزِلَتْ فِي الْيَتِيمَةِ تَكُونُ عِنْدَ الرَّجُلِ لَعَلَّهَا أَنْ تَكُونَ قَدْ شَرِكَتْهُ فِي مَالِهِ وَهُوَ وَلِيُّهَا فَيَرْغَبُ أَنْ يَنْكِحَهَا وَيَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُزَوِّجَهَا رَجُلًا فَيَشْرَكُهُ فِي مَالِهِ بِمَا شَرِكَتْهُ فَيَعْضُلُهَا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ {وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ فِي النِّسَاءِ} [النساء 127]

✧ ʿĀʾishah said regarding His saying, {And they request from you a ruling concerning women. Say: Allah rules for you concerning them, and what is recited to you in the Book concerning orphan girls to whom you do not give what is prescribed for them} [al-Nisāʾ 127]: She said: It was revealed about the orphan girl who is with a man, and perhaps she has shared with him in his wealth, and he is her guardian. He desires to marry her, but he dislikes marrying her to another man who would share with him in his wealth because of what she shared with him, so he prevents her [from marrying]. Thus Allah, majestic and mighty, revealed {And they request from you a ruling concerning women} [al-Nisāʾ 127].
