أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى {وَإِنِ امْرَأَةٌ خَافَتْ مِنْ بَعْلِهَا نُشُوزًا أَوْ إِعْرَاضًا} [النساء 128] أُنْزِلَتْ فِي الْمَرْأَةِ تَكُونُ عِنْدَ الرَّجُلِ لَا يَسْتَكْثِرُ مِنْهَا فَيُرِيدُ أَنْ يُطَلِّقَهَا وَيَتَزَوَّجَ غَيْرَهَا فَتَقُولُ لَا تُطَلِّقْنِي وَأَمْسِكْنِي وَأَنْتَ فِي حِلٍّ مِنَ النَّفَقَةِ وَالْقِسْمَةِ لِي فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ {فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِمَا أَنْ يُصْلِحَا بَيْنَهُمَا صُلْحًا} [النساء 128]

✧ ʿĀʾishah said regarding His saying, exalted is He, {And if a woman fears from her husband ill-treatment or aversion} [al-Nisāʾ 128]: It was revealed about the woman who is with a man and he does not desire her much, so he wants to divorce her and marry another. She says: Do not divorce me, but keep me, and you are free from [obligations of] maintenance and my share [of nights]. So Allah, majestic and mighty, revealed {There is no blame upon them if they make terms of settlement between them} [al-Nisāʾ 128].
