أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ مِنْ كِتَابِهِ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ لَمَّا رُفِعَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا تَجِدُونَ فِي كِتَابِكُمْ؟» قَالُوا لَا نَجِدُ الرَّجْمَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ كَذَبُوا الرَّجْمُ فِي كِتَابِهِمْ فَقِيلَ {فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ} [آل عمران 93] فَجَاءُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ وَجَاءَ قَارِئُهُمْ فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ الرَّجْمِ فَجَعَلَ يَقْرَأُ مَا خَلَا ذَلِكَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ أَدْخِلْ كَفَّكَ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِالرَّجْمِ يَلُوحُ فَأَمَرَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ ﷺ بِهِمَا فَرُجِمَا

✧ He narrated to him: When they were brought to the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "What do you find in your Book?" They said: We do not find stoning. Abdullah b. Salam said: They lie; stoning is in their Book. Then it was said: {Then bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful} [Al Imran: 93]. They brought the Torah, and their reader came and placed his palm over the verse of stoning and began to read what was besides it. Abdullah b. Salam said: Lift your palm. And behold, the verse of stoning was visible. So the Prophet of Allah ﷺ commanded regarding the two, and they were stoned.
