أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ لَئِنْ رَأَيْتُ مُحَمَّدًا يُصَلِّي عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ أَتَيْتُهُ حَتَّى أَطَأَ عَلَى عُنُقِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ فَعَلَ أَخَذَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عَيَانًا وَإِنَّ الْيَهُودَ لَوْ تَمَنَّوَا الْمَوْتَ لَمَاتُوا وَرَأَوْا مَقَاعِدَهُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ وَلَوْ خَرَجَ الَّذِينَ يُبَاهِلُونَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَرَجَعُوا لَا يَجِدُونَ مَالًا وَلَا أَهْلًا»

✧ Abū Jahl said: 'If I see Muḥammad praying at the Kaʿbah, I will go to him until I step on his neck.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If he did that, the angels would seize him visibly. And if the Jews wished for death, they would die and see their places in the Fire. And if those who would invoke the curse of Allah (impricate) against the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out, they would return not finding wealth or family."
