أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعَطَّارِ وَعِمْرَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي جَمِيلٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
أَرْدَفَنِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَلْفَهُ فَقَالَ «هَلْ مَعَكَ مِنْ شِعْرِ أُمَيَّةَ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «هِيهْ» وَقَالَ عِمْرَانُ «هَاتِ» فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ بَيْتًا فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يَقُولُ «هِيهْ» حَتَّى أَنْشَدْتُهُ مِائَةَ بَيْتٍ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ made me ride behind him and said, 'Do you have any of the poetry of Umayyah with you?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Recite.' 'Imran said, 'Give it.' So I recited a verse to him, and he kept saying, 'Recite,' until I had recited one hundred verses.
