أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ الطَّائِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّوَّاسِ بْنِ سَمْعَانَ قَالَ
ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الدَّجَّالَ ذَاتَ غَدَاةٍ فَخَفَّضَ فِيهِ وَرَفَعَ حَتَّى ظَنَنَّاهُ فِي طَائِفَةِ النَّخْلِ فَقَالَ «غَيْرُ الدَّجَّالِ أَخْوَفُ لِي عَلَيْكُمْ إِنْ يَخْرُجْ وَأَنَا فِيكُمْ فَأَنَا حَجِيجُهُ دُونَكُمْ وَإِنْ يَخْرُجْ وَلَسْتُ فِيكُمْ فَامْرُؤٌ حَجِيجُ نَفْسِهِ وَاللهُ خَلِيفَتِي عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ إِنَّهُ شَابٌّ قَطَطٌ عَيْنُهُ قَائِمَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ يُشَبَّهُ بِعَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ قَطَنٍ فَمَنْ رَآهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقْرَأْ فَوَاتِحَ سُورَةَ أَصْحَابِ الْكَهْفِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Dajjal one morning, and he lowered and raised his voice until we thought he was in the palm grove. He said: "Other than the Dajjal is more fearful for you. If he emerges while I am among you, I will be his adversary on your behalf. If he emerges while I am not among you, then each person is his own adversary, and Allah is my successor over every Muslim. He is a young man with tightly curled hair, his eye is protruding, as if he resembles Abd al-Uzza b. Qatan. Whoever sees him among you, let him recite the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf."
