أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي إِثْرِ سَمَاءٍ كَانَتْ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ﷻ؟» قَالُوا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ قَالَ أَصْبَحَ مِنْ عِبَادِي مُؤْمِنٌ فَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ فَذَلِكَ مُؤْمِنٌ بِي كَافِرٌ بِالْكَوْكَبِ وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَذَلِكَ كَافِرٌ بِي مُؤْمِنٌ بِالْكَوْكَبِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the morning prayer in Madinah after a rain that had fallen during the night. When he finished, he turned to the people and said, 'Do you know what your Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, said?' They said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'He said, "Some of My servants have become believers and some have become disbelievers. As for the one who says, 'We were given rain by the grace and mercy of Allah,' that one is a believer in Me and a disbeliever in the star. And as for the one who says, 'We were given rain by such-and-such a star,' that one is a disbeliever in Me and a believer in the star."'
