أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ شُرَيْحٍ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى سَحَابًا مُقْبِلًا مِنْ أُفُقٍ مِنَ الْآفَاقِ تَرَكَ مَا هُوَ فِيهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يَسْتَقْبِلَهُ فَيَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنَّا نَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَ بِهِ» فَإِنْ أَمْطَرَ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ سَيْبًا نَافِعًا اللهُمَّ سَيْبًا نَافِعًا وَإِنْ كَشَفَهُ اللهُ وَلَمْ يُمْطِرْ حَمِدَ اللهَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw clouds approaching from any horizon, he would abandon what he was doing—even if he was in prayer—until he faced them and said, 'O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the evil of what it has been sent with.' If it rained, he said, 'O Allah, a beneficial downpour, O Allah, a beneficial downpour.' And if Allah dispersed them and it did not rain, he praised Allah for that.
