أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَنَا وَعَاصِمٌ وَثَابِتٌ فَحَدَّثَ عَاصِمٌ عَنْ شَهْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَةَ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَبِيتُ عَلَى ذِكْرٍ طَاهِرًا فَيَتَعَارَّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَسْأَلُ اللهَ خَيْرًا مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا أُعْطِيهِ» فَقَالَ ثَابِتٌ فَقَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا فَحَدَّثَنَا بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا يَعْنِي أَبَا ظَبْيَةَ قُلْتُ لِحَمَّادٍ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ؟ قَالَ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ

✧ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is no Muslim who spends the night upon remembrance in a state of purity and then wakes up during the night asking Allah for good of this world and the Hereafter except that it is given to him." Thabit said: "Then he came to us and narrated this hadith to us, and I do not know him except that he means Abu Zabyah. I said to Hammad: 'From Mu'adh?' He said: 'From Mu'adh.'"
