أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ
أَنْ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لَا مَنْجَى وَلَا مَلْجَأَ مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مَاتَ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ» 10555 أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

✧ To say: “O Allah, I have submitted my soul to You, and turned my face to You, and entrusted my affair to You, and leaned my back upon You, out of desire and fear of You. There is no escape and no refuge from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed, and in Your Messenger whom You have sent.” If he dies, he dies upon the natural disposition. 10555 Ahmad b. Abd Allah informed us from Muhammad b. Ja'far, he said: Shu'bah narrated to me, he said: Abu al-Hasan informed me from al-Bara' b. 'Azib the like of that from the Prophet ﷺ.
