أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مُهَاجِرٍ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ
عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَسِيرُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ {قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ} [الكافرون 1] حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا فَقَالَ «قَدْ بَرِئَ هَذَا مِنَ الشِّرْكِ» ثُمَّ سِرْنَا فَسَمِعَ آخَرَ يَقْرَأُ {قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ} [الإخلاص 1] فَقَالَ «أَمَّا هَذَا فَقَدْ غُفِرَ لَهُ»

✧ On the authority of a man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "I was traveling with the Prophet ﷺ, and he heard a man reciting {Say: O disbelievers} [al-Kafirun: 1] until he completed it. He said: 'This one has been freed from shirk.' Then we continued on, and he heard another man reciting {Say: He is Allah, the One} [al-Ikhlas: 1]. He said: 'As for this one, he has been forgiven.'"
