أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُؤْمِنٌ قَوِيٌّ خَيْرٌ وَأَحَبُّ إِلَى اللهِ مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ ضَعِيفٍ احْرِصْ عَلَى مَا يَنْفَعُكَ وَلَا تَضْجَرْ فَإِنْ غَلَبَكَ أَمْرٌ فَقُلْ قَدَّرَ اللهُ وَمَا شَاءَ صَنَعَ وَإِيَّاكَ وَاللَّوْ فَإِنَّ اللَّوْ تَفْتَحُ عَمَلَ الشَّيْطَانِ الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “A strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than a weak believer. Be keen on what benefits you, and do not become impatient. If a matter overcomes you, then say: ‘Allah decreed, and what He willed, He did.’ Beware of ‘if,’ for ‘if’ opens the work of Satan.” Al-Fudayl b. Sulayman is not strong.
