أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَقُلِ الرَّجُلُ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي إِنْ شِئْتَ اللهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي إِنْ شِئْتَ وَلَكِنْ لِيَعْزِمِ الْمَسْأَلَةَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Let not a man say: 'O Allah, forgive me if You will. O Allah, have mercy on me if You will.' Rather, let him be resolute in asking.
