أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ عَنْ عُبَادَةَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي جُبَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ جَالِسًا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ فِي دُعَائِهِ حِينَ يُمْسِي وَحِينَ يُصْبِحُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي اللهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي اللهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي» قَالَ جُبَيْرٌ هُوَ الْخَسْفُ قَالَ عُبَادَةُ فَلَا أَدْرِي قَوْلُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَوْ قَوْلُ جُبَيْرٍ؟
Translation

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in his supplication when he entered the evening and when he entered the morning: “O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being swallowed up from beneath me.” Jubayr said: “It is being swallowed by the earth.” ʿUbadah said: “I do not know whether this is the statement of the Prophet ﷺ or the statement of Jubayr.”
