أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ سَابَقِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَامٍ قَالَ

مَرَّ بِنَا رَجُلٌ طُوَالٌ أَشْعَثُ فَقِيلَ إِنَّ هَذَا خَدَمَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ أَخَدَمْتَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ حَدِّثْنِي عَنْهُ حَدِيثًا لَمْ تَدَاوَلْهُ الرِّجَالُ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَنْ قَالَ حِينَ يُصْبِحُ وَحِينَ يُمْسِي ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ «رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا كَانَ حَقًّا عَلَى اللهِ أَنْ يُرْضِيَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

Translation

✧ A tall, disheveled man passed by us, and it was said: “This man served the Prophet ﷺ.” So I went to him and said: “Did you serve the Prophet ﷺ?” He said: “Yes.” I said: “Tell me a hadith from him that men have not passed around among themselves between you and him.” He said: “I heard him say: Whoever says when he enters the morning and when he enters the evening three times: ‘I am pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Prophet,’ it is a right upon Allah to please him on the Day of Resurrection.”
