أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ مُرْنِي بِكَلِمَاتٍ أَقُولُهُنَّ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتُ؟ قَالَ قُلْ «اللهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَشَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ» فَقَالَ «قُلْهَا إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ وَإِذَا أَمْسَيْتَ وَإِذَا أَتَيْتَ أَوْ إِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ»

✧ Abu Bakr asked the Prophet ﷺ: “Command me with words that I say when I enter the morning and when I enter the evening.” He said: “Say: ‘O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, Lord of all things and their Sovereign, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own self and the evil of Satan.’” He said: “Say it when you enter the morning, when you enter the evening, and when you come to—or when you take—your bed.”
