أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ كَانَ أَبِي إِذَا رَأَى الرَّجُلَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ السَّفَرَ قَالَ

ادْنُهْ حَتَّى أُوَدِّعَكَ بِمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوَدِّعُنَا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ «أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِمَ عَمَلِكَ»

Translation

  4. Sālim b. ʿAbdullāh

✧ Come closer so that I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to bid us farewell, then he would say: ‘I entrust Allah with your religion, your trust, and the final outcomes of your deeds.’
