al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 10254

✧ What is recommended to say in times of need, and mentioning the disagreement regarding the statement of Abu Ishaq in the narration of Abdullah b. Mas'ood.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ وَأَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خُطْبَةَ الْحَاجَةِ «الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ» ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ سَوَاءٌ وَقَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ ثُمَّ تَصِلُ خُطْبَتَكَ بِثَلَاثِ آيَاتٍ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ

Translation

  5. Abū al-Aḥwaṣ And ʾAbī ʿUbaydah
  6. ʿAbdullāh

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the sermon of need: "Praise be to Allah; we praise Him and seek His help." Then he mentioned the like of it exactly, and said: Abdullah said: "Then you connect your sermon with three verses," and he narrated the hadith.
