أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ وَبِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ سَيِّدَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ أَنْ يَقُولَ الْعَبْدُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ أَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ وَأَبُوءُ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي اغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ فَإِنْ قَالَهَا حِينَ يُصْبِحُ مُوقِنًا بِهَا فَمَاتَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ وَإِنْ قَالَهَا حِينَ يُمْسِي مُوقِنًا بِهَا فَمَاتَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ خَالَفَهُ ثَابِتُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: The master of seeking forgiveness is for the servant to say: There is no god but You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I am upon Your covenant and Your promise as much as I am able. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin to You. Forgive me, for none forgives sins but You. If he says it in the morning with certainty in it and then dies, he enters Paradise, and if he says it in the evening with certainty in it and then dies, he enters Paradise. Thabit b. Aslam differed from him.
