✧ How to seek forgiveness

أَخْبَرَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ جَالِسًا فَسَمِعْتُهُ اسْتَغْفَرَ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الْغَفُورُ» حِفْظُ زُهَيْرٍ

Translation

✧ I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I heard him seek forgiveness a hundred times, saying, “O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, and accept my repentance; indeed You are the Accepter of Repentance, the Forgiving.” This is Zuhayr’s memorization.
